Return to a time when age meant nothing and freedom meant everything." Wings Over Halls” is an air show that recounts those years during WWII. Held on a former B-17 training base 55 miles north of Memphis, this show allows you to visit the warbirds on the ramp, buy rides in some instances, see pyrotechnics that simulate bombing, and see these magnificent aircraft perform feats never imagined. Thirty aircraft perform during the show yearly. Veterans are honored during a special ceremony both days of the event. A museum is also located on the site.( For more information call 731-836-7400 )

Remember WWII: Living history, Education & Honor
Location: Linden, TN.
Description: WWII history will come to life at this incredible, hands-on living history event. Attendees will experience two WWII re-enactments, an army encampment, live big band music, an authentic recreation of the 1940s Cafe de Normandie, vintage vehicles, antiques vendors, WWII jeep rides, and more. Most importantly, they will have a rare opportunity not only to hear WWII veterans share their stories, but will be able to speak with them and express their appreciation in person. Join us in Linden, TN, Sept. 24, 2016, for an unforgettable day of honoring our heroes, connecting personally with the past, and experiencing a taste of life in the 1940s.

20th Annual Ames Plantation Heritage Festival
Location: Buford Ellington Rd & Rube Scott Dr, Grand Junction, TN 38039
Admission: $5.00 for adults, $2.00 dollars for ages 4 – 16 and free for ages 3 and under.
Description: This unique festival is sure to please everyone from the avid history buff to those with an appreciation of the diverse folk art of our past.
Over 150 folk artists, demonstrators, re-enactors, and musicians will provide a day of entertainment and education unlike any in the area. In addition to a day filled with the sounds of gospel, blues, and string band music, a diverse selection of 19th century skills and activities will be offered. Fall Folklore Jamboree
Location: University of Tennessee - West Tennessee Agricultural Museum
Hwy 70/79, Milan, Tennessee
Admission: $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 3-12. Parking is free
Description: There's one fun-filled Saturday in Milan jam-packed with music, crafts, food and more. The Fall Folklore Jamboree features more than 130 friendly folk artists demonstrating traditional farming, cooking and home life skills. You can see a blacksmith in action, watch mules plow a field, and shop for unique items like homemade soaps, candles and brooms. Plus, a long lineup of award winning gospel and bluegrass bands will be making music all day on an outdoor stage. There are lots of activities for children at Fall Folklore. Kids will enjoy riding in a horse-drawn wagon, picking and ginning their own cotton, and taking a tractor ride around the Research Center grounds.
